Both industry professionals and the general public flock to the Paris International Agricultural Show. If you wish to extend your network of agricultural sector contacts or simply enjoy a fascinating and fun show, then the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre from February 21st to March 1st is the place to be.
The Salon International de l’Agriculture is a major event
The Paris Agricultural Show is an event that can trace its roots back to 1870, the year the General Agricultural Competition was created. This was itself developed from the country fairs that were so popular in the 18th century. Over the years the event has evolved until it is now one of the major shows of its kind in Europe, if not the world. According to surveys, it has a 96% satisfaction rating, which is an amazing figure. There’s plenty to do for the whole family, and children’s events are offered, too.
Around 700,000 visitors are expected to attend in 2015 to view the products and displays of 1,300 exhibitors from 22 countries. There will be over 4,000 animals on show. Green tourism, regional and international gastronomy and both large and small scale farming are some of the areas that will be covered. The show is divided into four sectors dealing with livestock breeding; products and gastronomy; crops, plants, nature and lifestyle; and agricultural services and professions, so that visitors can easily locate their own particular area of interest. The show is open daily from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, with a late opening until 11:00 pm on Fridays.
