The Hotel de la Herse d'Or , hotel in the heart of Paris located in the historic Marais district, is within easy reach of various modes of public transport that will allow you swift and comfortable access to all the sites of interest in the capital. Here you will be well placed to fully enjoy all the events we are pleased to present you each month on our official blog, such as the Winter Sales, the Paris International Agricultural Show and all the many other happenings due to take place in this brand new year.
Stay in a hotel amidst the magic of the Marais
Built up on land that was once, as the name implies, a marsh, for a long time the Marais was the aristocratic centre of Paris, hence the wealth of fine architecture that is found here. Today it is also one of the trendiest districts of the city, offering a high concentration of superb shops, restaurants and bars along with a wealth of art galleries and museums, many of which are housed in grand old mansions that once belonged to the aristocracy.
The Picasso, Carnavalet and Cognacq-Jay are amongst the fine museums within a pleasant walking distance of the Hotel de la Herse d,Or. Also close by is the oldest stone house in Paris. Once the home of the 14th century writer, bookseller and alleged alchemist, Nicolas Flamel, it is now a delightfully intimate and altogether fascinating restaurant. The Marais is full of such delightful surprises awaiting the curious visitor, so why not be our guest and see what this fascinating district has to offer you?
Paris offers plenty of interest in this new year of 2015
After a year as full of events, concerts, exhibitions and more as 2014 was, you might be forgiven for thinking that Paris will be taking a breather as we slide into 2015. If so, you could not be more wrong, as the year begins with a full programme of the kinds of cultural and artistic presentations that help to make our city one of the most visited in the world. Locations such as the Pompidou Centre and the Louvre are constantly rotating their exhibitions, and theatres throughout the city continue to present the finest of stage productions. Keep an eye on this blog for details.
