News of the Hotel de la Herse d'Or for summer start gives you Paris with the sun out at great prices - and some unusual exhibitions to enjoy featuring trains and comic book characters, as well as a way to enjoy the beach in the heart of the city. We believe Paris is at its best in the summer months so we're delighted to give you our best rates at this time of the year so that you can enjoy the City of Light basking in the sun's rays.
Two of our favourite exhibitions take you on two very different journeys. One is to the world of Marvel Comics, an astonishing show of the original artwork behind some of Marvel's most famous characters, at the new Art Ludique Museum, which celebrates comic art, and which opened just last year. Summer means also Bastille Day and fireworks and celebrations throughout Paris - including the famous firemen's balls at fire stations all over the city. Later in July, another great national occasion, as the Tour de France ends on Paris's most famous boulevard, the Champs-Élysées. And why not relax on a deckchair with an ice cream on the sands of Paris Plages, the temporary beach that takes over the banks of the Seine?

In the ultra-modern building that houses the Arab World Institite, a journey of another kind awaits. 'Once Upon a Time on the Orient Express' celebrates the world's most famous train with a complete set of carriages outside the museum, and fascinating exhibits inside.
Things to do this summer in Paris to celebrate the season
Join Parisians at the unique events called Firemen's Balls the night before Bastille Day. Dance until 2am inside fire stations - all for a charitable donation. On July 27 you can welcome the cyclists of the Tour de France as they end the world's greatest cycle race on the Champs-Élysées. And there's the chance to go to the beach on the banks of the Seine from the end of July as tons of sand are brought in to create the annual temporary seaside resort known as Paris Plages.
