The summer is here with its fine weather, languid days and music festivals such as Rock en Seine, so it’s time to stop listening to music in your headphones, or at home, and catch some live performances in the open air.
Lately we have witnessed budget cuts leading to the unfortunate cancellations of several French music festivals. But don’t worry; Rock en Seine is still here, and better than ever! This year it takes place in the Parc de Saint-Cloud, as usual, from August 28th to 30th.
An unstoppable event for rock fans
This festival at the gates of Paris was established in 2003 and stands today as one of the best events in France for lovers of rock music. Each year, the festival invites onto its various stages the best performers in pop, rock and electro.
The programme is a mix of renowned headliners and rising stars in a variety of rock music genres. Festival-goers are welcomed in a charming rural setting, in which nature is respected and sustainability is championed. The event is also family-friendly, so there’s plenty for children to do. The mini Rock en Seine offers various musical workshops and storytelling sessions to keep the kids amused!
A programme of high flyers
Rock music lovers will gather in the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud (Hauts-de-Seine) for the thirteenth edition of Rock en Seine, where they can enjoy a musically eclectic and enticing programme. The organisers have acquired the musical services of some titanic talents, from the leading bands of the 1990s to those of today, along with the best of the current crop of emerging musicians.
At the top of the bill there’s The Chemical Brothers, The Libertines, The Offspring, Fauve, Étienne Daho and Jungle. Strengthening the line-up still further are Raphael Saadiq, Ben Howard, Gramatik, Fuzz, The Stereophonics and Kasabian.
The official website of the festival offers day tickets for 49 euros, or three day packages with free entrance to mini Rock en Seine. Children less than 11 years must be accompanied by an adult.
After the music, embrace the gastronomy
Wait! Paris has not finished surprising you, yet! When you have given your ears a treat, it’s time to lavish some attention on your taste buds, courtesy of the delights of Parisian cuisine, and there’s no better time to do so than during the fifth edition of the Fête de la Gastronomie, which will be held from September 25th to 27th. To delight your palate, the star chef and patron of the festival, Anne-Sophie Pic, will propose creative and daring recipes around the theme of bread.
The Fête de la Gastronomie offers a wealth of attractions and activities, including picnics, banquets, workshops, markets, tastings, demonstrations by top chefs and much more.
By taking advantage of the services of the Hotel de la Herse d'Or, you will be central for the events of the festival and a memorable gastronomic adventure is assured.
