Things to do this summer in Paris include taking to a beach in the heart of the city, cheering the Tour de France cyclists to the finish line and joining in the celebrations of Bastille Day, all easily accessible from Hotel de la Herse d'Or.
Dance with firemen on Bastille Day
On July 14, all of France celebrates the storming of the Bastille, and the French Revolution of 1789. One of the more unusual events in Paris are the Firemen's Balls all over the city on the night before.
Join Parisians as they dance until 2am inside fire stations - all for a charitable donation. The next day you can watch the military parade down the Champs-Elysées and the fireworks at night.
Also on the Champs-Élysées, there's the climax of the Tour de France on July 27. The greatest cycle race in the world is a French obsession. The excitement that builds as the riders approach Paris has to be experienced to be believed. It's another occasion you won't forget.
Later in July, the beach comes to the city centre for Paris Plages. The banks of the Seine are closed to traffic and covered with tons of sand for you to enjoy, with deckchairs, free entertainment, ice cream and even beach volleyball.
