The time is now! The Paris Winter Sales are here and will be with us until February 17th. With items being reduced by 30 to 50% or even more in some cases this is the ideal time to grab some real bargains at truly unbelievable prices. Don’t forget to prepare yourself by getting hold of a copy of the Paris Shopping Book; your indispensable guide to the retail action.
Bargain hunting in Paris during the Winter Sales
Sales in Paris are held once in the summer and once in the winter. Known as ‘Soldes’ in French, they are regulated by the government so that they last for a specific period. During that time the prices tend to be reduced more and more as shops clear their older stock in preparation for the new. Perhaps the best bargains are to be found in clothing, but all areas of retail are covered, including footwear, furniture, décor items, perfumes, household appliances, books, DVDs, CDs, toys and electronics. There’s something for every budget and a lot of fun to be had.
The best way to approach the Paris Winter Sales, however, is to be prepared. Here’s where the Paris Shopping Book comes in handy. This pocket sized one hundred page volume is published by the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau and is available free of charge at tourist information points and online at PARISINFO.com. Updated every year, this essential guide offers themed shopping itineraries, in addition to lists of shops, restaurants, places of interest and public transport information. In short, everything you need to plan the perfect shopping trip.
